So last weekend I was dreading my birthday as I turned 27! However my amazing family and friends made it a prolonged celebration that lasted over a week and was definitely not one to forget any time soon! So to start the party with a bang I arranged some simple after work drinks with colleagues and friends at my local bar called Gem. That definitely got everyone in the party mood with the drinks flowing, the music pumping and the boogeying on the dance floor! Here are some pictures of my awesome week with details below:
SUNDAY (my actual birthday) – Brunch with the siblings (my elder brother B and adopted elder sister Rae Rae) at PJ Grill on Fulham Road. I had the eggs royal with some fries on the side which was the perfect meal for my day.
MONDAY – lunch at Benares in Berkeley Sq with a good friend and awesome photographer (Irfan). I had the chicken tikka pie with grapefruit salad for starter, lamb fillet with potato for mains and assortment of delicious sweets for desert. After work I met up with Irfy again and headed over to Sketch for an earl grey macaroon and some drinks and finally to finish that evening I met up with my parents for dinner at Zaika on High St Kensington for a delicious meal of rabbit roast, lamb biryani, butter chicken, sea bass and cottage cheese and falafel cutlets.
TUESDAY – Found myself surrounded with amazing people having dinner at Pizza Express discussing wedding plans and the proposal of our friend who was visiting from Singapore. I had the Pollo Pesto which was lovely.
WEDNESDAY – unintentionally found myself back at gem bar for a couple of drinks.
THURSDAY – headed over to Bubble Dogs on Charlotte St for some gourmet hot dogs and champagne. I had the naked dog with some cheese. Later that evening the bf and I headed out to Sushi Samba which was absolutely divine! Everything from the breath-taking views of London to the exquisite food, the perfect wine to compliment our dishes and the attentive service. We orders the miso black cod, flank steak, lamb chops, unagi (eel) nigiri, ezo rolls, and the duck breast.
FRIDAY – As it was Eid i met my parents for dinner at Laya Lina in Knightsbridge. We had houmous, fatoush and cheese and herbs pastry rolls for starters and sea bass and shish toauk with a portion of chips on the side for mains.
SATURDAY – I headed out to Longleat safari park for a friends birthday. Pictures of all the animals encountered to follow on a post during the week.
SUNDAY – brunch at the Cookbook Cafe at Intercontinental on Park Lane followed by a visit to the Saatchi Gallery to view the The Little Black Jacket exhibition with my best friend. For brunch I started with some salads, cheeses and sashimi from the cold counter followed by freshly made pancakes and chocolate syrup and some tea. I then headed over to the hot food counter for a sunday roast beef which was excellent and some roast duck followed soon after. Finally decided to end it all after several bellini’s at the desert counter with some carrot cake, a slice of pineapple, strawberry and vanilla mouse and a raspberry macaroon.
